Update

Really, there isn’t much to update. I will try to get the Jim Erwin piece posted tomorrow.

I was contacted by yet another employee today that is being harassed in way that would suggest the manager (same manager involved with the suicide) is trying to drive the employee over the edge mentally. I will never understand why that behavior is tolerated.

That’s about it for tonight!

So where do we go from here?

Things will be changing on Monday in San Bernardino County. Supervisor-elect Neil Derry will be sworn in as Third District Supervisor. Gary Ovitt will become Chairman of the Board of Supervisors. I’ve heard various rumors about who will be Vice Chairman and I don’t know what has been decided, although I’m sure by now the backroom deal has been made.

The chiefs of staff for the San Bernardino County supervisors are the nearly invisible counterparts of their elected bosses.

But for the work they do behind the scenes, they garner generous salaries — nearly as high as those of the powerful politicians who appoint them.

There are five supervisors in the county, and each employs a chief of staff.
