January 2009 Newsletter

Dear Friends,

Greetings and a Happy New Year!

It is an honor to begin my second term as your state representative in the California State Assembly, and I thank you for your support. November 2008 eNewsletter

Dear Friends,

My maternal grandfather, Anderson Carter, taught me the joys of reading beginning at age three. In rural Mississippi, where my grandfather served as my first teacher, I discovered something extraordinary, something valuable called “reading,” something that I would always have and use forever. Not every child has the benefits I had - a parent or mentor who can read to them regularly and encourage and inspire a lifelong love of learning.
