BONO MACK WILDERNESS BILL INTRODUCED IN SENATE

Praises Senate for moving quickly to resolve unfinished business

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congresswoman Mary Bono Mack today praised the reintroduction in the U.S. Senate of a package of public lands bills, which includes Bono Mack’s widely supported wilderness provision that would preserve unique desert and forest landscapes and rivers in Riverside County. Bono Mack issued the following statement:

BONO MACK: OVERSIGHT CRITICAL FOR ECONOMIC RESCUE

Urges key oversight positions to be filled

WASHINGTON , D.C. – Congresswoman Mary Bono Mack today urged Congressional leadership and the Treasury Department to comply with transparency and oversight standards in carrying out last month’s economic relief legislation. Emphasizing that America’s taxpayers deserve to have confidence in how the federal government is allocating funds as a part of this program, Bono Mack sent letters urging that the requirements mandated in the economic rescue legislation are adhered to, including filling positions on the Financial Stability Oversight Board, appointing members to a Congressional Oversight Panel and facilitating market transparency.
