From the Sun: Trauma brings out kindness, support |

Last weekend, I held my mobile phone on a noisy street in Fresno and listened to a man with a Southern drawl, who asked if he could pray for my son.
I didn’t know this fellow. I only was speaking with him because he left a note at my hotel’s front desk, asking a parent “of the boy hurt in the plane crash” to call. Now, I am not much of a religious person, but as my little son lay nearby in a hospital bed, having been badly injured in a plane crash on Thanksgiving Day, I immediately welcomed the gesture. He, offered, too, to start the prayer chain at his church in Torrance.
