Last night I attended my first Apple Valley Town Council meeting in years. It was the first time seeing the current crop of councilmembers in action. Quite frankly, I was appalled. I thought the San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors had a board full of egomaniacs. They have got competition here in Apple Valley for sure. No wonder four of the five town concilmembers support Brad Mitzelfelt. They are cut from the same cloth.

Tim Jasper has to be one of the most arrogant politicians I have ever witnessed. It is obvious that these town councilmembers wishthe public would not show up to the meetings. They seemed to be almost contemptuous towards the public. And heaven forbid, clapping is not allowed. It was pretty funny watching a couple of the activists get under Jasper’s skin. Jasper seems to have a hair-trigger temper. He certainly has no patience for members of the public, especially if the member of the public doesn’t agree with him.

Jasper is one of two councilmen up for re-election this November. He has got to go! I hope someone of quality chooses to run against these two incumbents. Rick Roelle is the other councilman up for re-election. He seems more in touch with the people, but I was watching him carefully and he gave many dirty looks towards members of the community. He is a Mitzelfelt support as well so I guess it should be expected.
