This is what I heard this morning. The county and SBPEA brought in a State mediator to try and help out yesterday and the guy actually laughed out loud at the County negotiating team. He basically said anyone who would support losing the Flex benefit dollars would be an idiot and for the County to even propose such a thing without a pay increase or something to make up for that loss is laughable and then he laughed out loud.

Did anyone read Bob Blough’s comments to the BOS? Those are as laughable. Bob has been the one behind trying to get employees to lose their flex plan. He has said it publicly, even in my presence. I’ll have to see if I have the email still from Paula, who does Bob’s bidding for him, where she said that we would lose the flex plan this contract. How would she know? This plan has been in the works for several years. This is something that Postmus wanted when he was chairman. I was present when he commented about it. And if anyone thinks Uffer doesn’t want it too, you’re nuts!!!

I’ve heard from numerous sources on the negotiating team that Bob has tried to sell this to all the Koolaid drinkers who are on that negotiating team. I’ve had the conversations myself with some of them explaining why this is so harmful to employees. Thank goodness there are some negotiating team members who can think with their brains and are willing to stand up to Bob and his followers to attempt to keep this from happening.

All I can say to everyone is to assume SBPEA has your WORSE interests at heart. They have sold you out to management for years and they will try to do the same again this year. I can only hope that some of our negotiating team will continue to stand their ground against Bob and his cohorts.
