I received a phone call this afternoon from someone who knows I work for HSS. Apparently, he attended today’s BOS meeting and was sitting behind two women. One he referred to as a “total bi*ch” and the other one as a “huge d*ke.” He tells me that while he is sitting in Board chambers Tony Orlich walked past them and they started laughing at him and making fun of him. Tony is an elderly man that attends most BOS meetings and speaks on issues important to him. He appears to be very elderly and I think his heart is in the right place. He doesn’t seem to be the target of ire by the BOS like Bob Nelson, Jeff Wright and others are.
I ask for a further description of the women and he gives it to me, telling me that he asked where they work. The “bi*ch” responded that she works for “HSS.” I then directed him to a page on the county’s website where there are photos of HSS employees and he identified these two women as none other than Linda Haugen and Nancy Swanson. He further indicated that they were very obnoxious and rude. He said he couldn’t believe how they acted in public ridiculing a member of the public, an elderly man at that. He went on to say some things I cannot repeat on this blog about Nancy Swanson and how she looked and acted.
I’ve written about their behavior in public in the past such as when they talked trash about their own employees while those employees were speaking before the BOS. They ridiculed how they were dressed, made fun of them in general, and criticized how and what they spoke about. These women do not belong in public.
I’m not sure I ever shared this story on the blog before, but a couple years ago I attended the CWN Christmas luncheon. I was standing in line at the buffet. Behind me there was a man and woman talking. The woman was just dissing various department heads. I was surpised that someone would do that in a public place. I recognized the man’s voice. It was Andrew Lamberto. He sounded like he was uncomfortable with the way the woman was acting and he was being careful about what he was saying. I did not recognize the woman’s voice.
When we got to the buffet table I made a point of going on the opposite side from her so I could see who she was. As I turn around to face her, it is none other than Linda Haugen. The look on her face was priceless!! She put some food on her plate but then dropped it in the container of salad dressing. It was a beautiful sight! I think I unnerved her. That particular night there were tons of hits on the blog from the area in which she lives. I’ve never known for sure if it was her or not, but I always laugh at that. I didn’t write about on the blog at that time just because.
Ms. Haugen and her accomplice Ms. Swanson need some lessons in how to behave in public. They are truly an embarassment to all county employees. But I guess they mirror the behavior of our current elected officials who appointed them, so until we get rid of those public officials we will have to deal with department heads that have no manners.

Classic. The completely unskilled and unqualified managers in the County like to believe they’re above the hoi polloi, but in fact they’re so far beneath them it’s funny. They literally believe that because of their position, they are in some way superior to those who make less money than they do. If it weren’t so pitiful, it would be ludicrous.
For people of integrity, no amount of money would be sufficient to compromise their principles, but for Uffer and his flunkies, a sufficient hourly salary is all it takes to turn them into whatever the County wants them to be. There’s a word for people like that - prostitute.
I’ve been at functions with both of these women where dignitaries and members of the Board have been present. Nancy Swanson is so gauch. She is like a bull in a china shop. She lacks all social grace. This is the same woman who talks about her suicide attempts and ridicules her subordinates openly.
That is one thing she is definitely know for–throwing tantrums at staff. One supervisor told me that after being in her office on some sort of disciplinary action, the HRO (pre-deanna) commented, “at least she didn’t scream this time.” I’ve never understood why that type of behavior is tolerated. But then we know that Service First applies only to some employees.
Thank you for bringing the light on these nasty mean and heartless women. It was I who was sitting behind these nasty rude and shocking public servants. Mr orlyck had walked by and they all laughed and made fun of this little harmless old man who does nothing but give. He is very poor and he rides his bike to the meetings every tuesday.
My phone was not shut off and rang, nasty Linda Haugan and her huge and ugly assistant who looked more like a man than our Governor and had more hair on her knuckles than me. Her assistant and nasty Linda turned around and where trying to bring attention to my phone ringing to shame me by waving there hands and talking loud they where exceptionally rude and nasty after I immediately hung up I asked nasty Linda what County Department she worked for and she said human services I fired back, “why don’t you act human then.” They were all so nasty rude and very mean spirited people and should not be working and getting our tax dollars. I will be monitoring these mean spirited women and every time I get a chance I will bring attention to these nasty women. Given the wickedness of the present board it is obvious that until we get rid of the present board we will fuel and sanction people like nasty Linda and her assistant Arnold Jr. Thanks for reading this Blog.

Those people are only a reflection of their bosses. I have heard Mark Uffer talk bad about his bosses so where do you think they learn it from?
If the BOS is going to continue to allow Mark Uffer to hire and retain these types of department heads then our only recourse is to replace the BOS. Service First only applies to low-level employees. The higher you rise in county government the more obnoxious you are allowed to be.
I think it is so funny that a member of the public would peg these two women so perfectly. Men in drag is what I think of.
