Daily Press Smear Campaign

I’d put up a link to the letters and opinion page, but they are not in a format where I can do that yet, but did you read Steve Williams’ editorial and the letters to the editor? You know, the Mitzelfelt campaign has made sure word has gotten to the Voglers to expect to be dragged through the mud and back, which is expected from a professional politician with no ethics. But to have a newspaper such as the Daily Press aid and abet with less-than-factual information is . . . well we are talking about the Daily Press, so I guess it is to be expected as well.

Here is the truth. Rita did not file her financial statement on time. In comparison to what some of our county elected officials and candidates have done on their financial statements and other required documents, it is no big deal. However, I think the Voglers feel as I do. Everything should be done correctly and that is what they are trying to do.

The Voglers received a call from someone at the Registrar of Voters office to let them know that the statements were past due. That person then said that they got busy and did not mail out the forms this year. Shortly after this phone call, the Voglers received a call from Ryan Orr of the Daily Press questioning them about the financial statements. Seems he was tipped off, which has been a problem for candidates every since Kari Verjil became Registrar. It seems Ms. Verjil feels an alliance to current board members and politicians and the need to report on their opponents to them. This was never a problem until Mark Uffer got so involved in the Registrar’s office and replaced the former Registrar with Kari. Makes one question the integrity of our voting system in this county. But that is another story.

Al Vogler spoke with Ryan Orr. Ryan misquoted Al. Now Steve Williams feels that Al should apologize to Kari for Ryan misquoting him? Makes perfect sense to me. I think Steve Williams should apologize to all the the DP readers for not investigating the whole story before writing such an editorial and Ryan Orr should apologize to all the DP readers for having no integrity.

I believe the missing financial statements were filed the first business day after the mistake was brought to the Voglers’ attention. Those statements are public record. I suggest for all who are concerned that you take a look at the Vogler financial statement and compare it to the Mitzelfelt financial statement. I think you will discover exactly where your concern should be.

    Get it right:

You left out the fact that the Registrar doesn’t mail forms to anyone. The Voglers received the forms and the information about the deadlines at the same time every other candidate does, when they filed to run. I guess you didn’t mention that because it doesn’t fit in with your conspiracy theory.

I did not say that they do mail out forms. I merely repeated the excuse given. Since I’m expecting more information on this subject shortly, I’m not going to say more yet, but I assure you there will be more about the “conspiracy theory” on this blog soon.

When Ms. Vogler stated after a vote against truck drivers (small business), “You don’t own the street just because you own a house there.” That pretty well told me she was a boob and had little understanding of private property and right of way issues.

Sharon your RSS feed is messed up. I would like to subscribe to your site but I am unable to get a feed.
