While I’m plugging blogs . . .
One of my favorites to read has only so much to do with politics, but I always enjoy reading Mykel’s opinions. He doesn’t know it because I’ve never told him, but something he wrote a while back dramatically affected my thoughts about the role of Christianity in society. I was brought up in a black-and-white, fire-and-brimstone, Christianity-is-about-ceremony household. Although my mom had a very personal relationship with Christ and practiced what she preached, no one else around me did too. After reading one of Mykel’s posts it hit me that being a Christian is about grace, forgiveness, and love, and not the hatred and condemnation spread by so many leaders of the various denominations. Of course practicing Christ’s commands for our lives is a little bit harder.

I found this on Mykel’s blog about Daylight Saving Time.

Why am I not surprised?

See, I knew Daylight Savings Time should be outlawed!! It’s the worse day of the year. My favorite holiday of the year is the day it ends. I celebrate that more than Easter, Fourth of July and Thanksgiving combined.
