The Hill: Cain fires back at report alleging sexually inappropriate behavior

Herman Cain’s campaign is aggressively firing back at a report that says two women left a Washington, D.C. trade group after complaining of sexually inappropriate behavior by the GOP presidential candidate.

The report in Politico said the two female employees of the National Restaurant Association signed agreements with the trade group that gave them financial payouts to leave the association. The agreements also included language that bars the women from talking about their departures, the news web site reported.

Cain headed the National Restaurant Association from 1996-1999.

His campaign cast the story as an attack by inside the Beltway media on Cain, who has jumped to the top of national polls on the strength of solid performances at GOP debates and his 9-9-9 tax plan, which would impose a 9 percent incomes, sales and corporate tax in place of the current tax system.

Fearing the message of Herman Cain who is shaking up the political landscape in Washington, Inside the Beltway media have begun to launch unsubstantiated personal attacks on Cain, the statement said.

Dredging up thinly sourced allegations stemming from Mr. Cain’s tenure as the chief executive officer at the National Restaurant Association in the 1990s, political trade press are now casting aspersions on his character and spreading rumors that never stood up to the facts.

Since Washington establishment critics haven’t had much luck in attacking Mr. Cain’s ideas to fix a bad economy and create jobs, they are trying to attack him in any way they can.

Sadly, we’ve seen this movie played out before – a prominent Conservative targeted by liberals simply because they disagree with his politics.

  1. Glen Woodfin Says:

After seeing Cain attack critics of the Federal Reserve, then lying about it later in a comparison clip on MSNBC and his statement that he’d consider trading terrorist prisoners in Gitmo with other prisoners, then lying about it on another venue, he completely lost me. I’m sick of lying politicians and he’s groomed to be another one.

Now it comes out that he made a settlement with two women in a sexual harrassment case and continues to duck the issue. He’s twisting and turning in the wind and his body language has guilty dog written all over it.

We don’t need another squirrel in the White House.
